A beautiful uniface Plaquette from Verona

ITALY. Verona. Uniface Plaquette (Bronze, 71 x 54 mm, 75.14 g), David triumphant over Goliath. By G. Mondella (1467-1528), but an old aftercast from the 16th-17th centuries, no date. Helmeted David with greaves and sword holding sling in his right hand and leaning on altar, pointing to man who stoops over the decapitated body of Goliath; in the lower left, Goliath's head. Rev. Blank, inventory number 106 on an old vignette and written inventory number 9. in red. Bange 438. Kress (Pope Hennessey) 141, pl. 169 var. (circular). Lewis 26. Molinier 159. Warren (Ashmolean) 296. Pierced and traces of lead on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
